Lionel Meister

Lionel Meister, 91, of Aurora, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024 at Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital.  He was born in Cleveland on October 23, 1932 to the late Herman and Constance Meister.  He earned his bachelor's degree in business from Fenn College (Cleveland State University).

Lionel was a brilliant businessman who was the owner/operator of United Automatic Heating Supply.  He enjoyed boating and fishing, owning a home and boat in Florida and on Lake Erie.  He loved magic, telling jokes and pulling pranks, but what meant more to him was making people smile and laugh.  Lionel lived his life with the motto Live, Love, Laugh.  His family meant everything to him and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Marty, Gordon, Ralph and Herman Meister.

Lionel leaves his loving wife of 72 years Joan Meister; son Lionel “Lee” (Shelly) Meister; daughters Darlene (Ken) Mitroff and Diane Ross; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

In honoring his wishes, Lionel will be cremated and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 3:00PM at Bissler and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory, 628 W. Main St. Kent, OH 44240.  Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00-3:00PM on Saturday at the funeral home.
