Albert Roy Pennock

December 17, 1936 — November 2, 2021

Tallmadge

Albert Roy Pennock, 84 of Tallmadge, lost his battle with Dementia on November 2, 2021.  He was born on December 17, 1936 to the late Roy and Freda Pennock in a small cottage in Brady Lake.  As a small child, the family moved to a farm in Streetsboro.

He graduated from Kent Roosevelt High School with the class of 1956.  Al retired from the City of Akron Water Department after 30 years.  He fulfilled his dream of moving to Florida.  He was employed with the Manatee Water Department in Bradenton, FL, returning to Ohio after 13 years.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #316, First Christian Church of Kent and First Nazarene Church of Bradenton, FL where he became an elder and made many friends.  Al was a very religious person and believed God put him here to figure out a way to fix anything.  He was an avid golfer and bowler.  He bowled in two leagues and had many perfect games.  He loved to travel, San Diego being his favorite city.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carol; son Michael (Jan) of Brimfield; daughter Debra Pennock of Munroe Falls; granddaughter Angela (Justin) Smith of Akron; great grandson Garrett; brothers, Ralph of Streetsboro and Paul of Columbus; sister Mary Holton of Strongsville; many nieces and nephews and his furry companion Abby.  Al took great pride in his family’s accomplishments.  He looked forward to family gatherings.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers David and Joseph.

A special thank you to the tireless staff of Falling Water Healthcare Center and Crossroads Hospice of Cleveland.

In honoring his request, Al will be cremated and relatives and friends may pay their respect to the family at Bissler and Sons Funeral Home on Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 2:00-4:00PM.

Donations in Al’s name can be made to Portage Animal Protective League, PO Box 927 Ravenna, OH 44260.
