Alice A. Zitner, 87, of Stow OH, died Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Stow Glen Retirement Center in Stow.
She was born September 24, 1926 in Cleveland, to George William and Selma M. (Pennington) Aufmuth. Alice married Martin Zitner in November, 1950 and celebrated 50 years of marriage before his passing in December of 2000. They resided in Orange Village where Alice was employed by the Village of Orange as well as Allen Sales. In retirement Martin and Alice lived briefly in Willoughby Hills, Kent and Lehigh Acres, Florida. After Martin's death, Alice relocated to Tallmadge in 2002. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, the Ladies Guild at the Church and the Busy Sunshine Club.
She is survived by her son: David (Sandy) Zitner of Milan; daughter, Lynn (Mike) Lemon of Kent, and grandchildren, Nathan & Megan Zitner.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Selma Aufmuth and husband Martin Zitner.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Stow Glen Retirement Center for the care they provided Alice. Also, the support provided by Harbor Light Hospice was greatly appreciated.
Memorial services will be held 11:30 am Friday, November 22nd, with family greeting friends one hour prior, at Our Lady Of Victory Church, 73 North Avenue, Tallmadge, OH, with Father Mike Matusz officiating. Burial will be held at Standing Rock Cemetery at a later date.
