Alverna Steidl-Taylor, 86, of Stow, died Monday, November 29, 2010 at Hospice Care Center in Copley. She was born May 1, 1924 in Williamsport, PA to Arthur and Eva (Decker) Fessler. Alverna was a graduate of Kenmore High School. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for over 50 years. Alverna had been a member of Sweet Adeline's, was a Sunday School teacher and Cub Scout Den Mother. She is survived by her husband, Hugh Taylor; sons, David (Tina Calabro) Steidl of Pittsburgh, PA and Richard (Debra) Steidl of Canal Fulton; Hughs's daughter, Susan Taylor of Akron; grandsons, Paul Steidl, Mark Steidl and Jeremy Novelli; brother, Arthur (Janet) Fessler of Uniontown. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul I Steidl; and four brothers. There will be no calling hours. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, December 3rd at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Elizabeth Hazelton and Pastor Douglas Fidler officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church Building Fund, 600 S. Water Street, Kent, OH 44240. Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory are handling the arrangements.
