Alvin H. Brown Sr., 89, of Kent, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024. He was born in McDonald, PA on October 13,1934 to the late David and Julia Brown and proudly served in the United States Army.
Al was the owner and operator of Al Brown Construction, LLC over 40 years ago, and worked alongside his son Alvin Jr., and grandsons until his son took over the business 15 years ago. He and his son put on many roofs, remodels and built new homes throughout Portage County. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to pick berries, fish, hunt, trap and loved planting his flowers. Al enjoyed spending time with family, singing Rock of Ages, and loved his dogs throughout the years. He was the best Dad who taught us many outdoor activities and was super entertaining.
Al leaves behind his loving children, Angel (Scott) Brandner, Dawn (Tim) Prince, Rebel (Tom) Bigler and Robin Cooper; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; nieces; nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Mildred L. (Felton); son Alvin H. Jr.; his brother David and sister Marie Meloy.
In honoring his wishes, Alvin will be cremated and a private service for his family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
