Amelia Ann (Visca) Hill, 91, of Kent, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2021 with her loving family by her side. She was born on April 14, 1929 in Kent to the late Giovanni and Pasqualina Visca. Her parents immigrated from Italy in the early 1900’s.
She graduated from Kent State High School in 1947. She was an avid golfer and bowler for many years and a proud supporter of Kent State Athletics.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Samuel Visca, sisters, Clara Carrante and Norma Hale and son-in-law, Patrick Burniston.
She is survived by her husband, John (Jack) Hill whom she was married to for 71 years. She is survived by their children, Rick (Peggy) Hill, Gibsonia, PA, Debbie Burniston, Kent, Kathy (Tim) Steiner and Christine Hill of Brimfield. She was blessed with eight grandchildren, Jennifer (Mike) Wohlwend, Brian (Janie) Vair, Matthew Burniston, Jeffrey (Melissa) Burniston, Jonathan (Michelle) Hill, Steven (Katelyn) Hill, Madeline Staats, and Alexandra Staats; and eight greatgrandchildren.
The family would especially like to thank Amelia’s hospice team from Western Reserve of Stacy K, Judy, and Jackie, along with First Light Homecare caregivers of Jasmyn and Gabrielle for their gentle and compassionate care.
Due to covid restrictions, a private funeral service will be held. A celebration of life will be held at later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Amelia’s name to St. Patrick Church 313 N DePeyster St. in Kent or Hospice of Western Reserve (hospicewr.org).
