Ann Louise Snyder Britton, 53, of Akron, died Friday, June 17, 2011 at her home.
She was born February 10, 1958 in Buffalo, NY to Philip J. and Marjorie (Watson) Snyder. Ann was Court Magistrate of Human Services for the Summit County Probate Court. She attended the University of Michigan and received her Economics Degree in 1979. Ann attended and received her Juris Doctorate from the Ohio State University in 1983 and was subsequently admitted to the Ohio Bar Association the same year. She was a member of the Akron Bar Association serving on the Board of Admissions, Lawyer Assistance Committee Chairperson, and the ADM Board. She was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Fairlawn, serving on various committees through the years. Ann was an avid reader and enjoyed solving crossword puzzles during her spare time.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur Britton, whom she married on September 12, 1992; daughter, Amelia Britton; mother Eleonore Snyder of Kent; sisters, Dr. Paula Snyder of Sugar Bush and Julie (Eric) Ornella of Cincinnati; grandmother, Paula Natemeyer of Kent; aunts and uncles, Jean Mugler of Dunkirk, NY, Marian (George) Frank of Geneva, IL, George (Leah) Snyder of Buffalo, NY, Dr. Walter (Mona) Natemeyer of Houston, TX; father and mother-in-law, David A. (Barbara) Britton of Rocky River; brother-in-law, Mark (Tammi) Britton of Olmstead Falls; sister-in-law, Linda (Tom) Jourdan of Scottsburg, IN; nephews, Matthew Jourdan of Scottsburg, IN, Devin Ornella of Cincinnati and Brett Ornella of Las Vegas, NV; many cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Dr. Philip and Marjorie (Watson) Snyder; grandparents, Philip J. and Jean Snyder Sr. and Penn R. and Edna Watson Sr.; grandfather, Ernst Natemeyer; uncles, Fred E. Natemeyer and George Mugler.
Calling hours will be held 2-4 and 6-9 PM Monday, June 20 at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory in Kent. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, June 21 at Faith Lutheran Church, 2726 West Market Street, Fairlawn, OH, with Pastor Jean Hansen officiating. Private burial will be held at Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Amelia Britton Educational Fund, c/o any Ohio Savings Bank.
