Ann Grace Dodds

Ann Grace Dodds, 63, of Kent, Ohio passed away on Sunday, June 7th.

Ann was born October 8, 1956 to Stanley and Grace Drongowski, one of eight siblings. She worked as a perinatal nurse with Summa Health System for over 30 years. She was compassionate, empathetic and found fulfillment in being trusted with the care of expectant mothers through their high-risk pregnancies.

Ann was truly one-of-a-kind. A die-hard Bob Dylan fan with the best taste in movies and music, always with a recommendation at the ready. She was smart, strong, hardworking, and when she cared about you, you felt it. Ann knew how to listen and make a person feel truly heard, with no judgement or pretense. From family and friends to coworkers, her sense of humor is something that unites the stories people tell of her. We were blessed to laugh with her.

Preceded in death by her parents, Ann is survived by her son, Tony (Montry) Dodds; her beloved grandson, Jonah; brothers, Stan Drongowski O.P. and Steve (Karen) Drongowski; sisters, Mary (Martin) Dworakowski, Susan (David) Barry, Laure Crowder, Amy Reilly, and Shari (Abi) Chandra. Her relationship with her son Tony was the most important of her life. They always had a way of being there for one another even to the end.

Calling hours will be held at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home on WEDNESDAY June 10 from 4-7 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial THURSDAY June 11 at 11:00 A.M. with her brother Rev. Fr. Stan Drongowski officiating at St. Patrick’s Parish, 313 N Depeyster Street in Kent. Interment at Standing Rock.
