On Monday, June 3, 2013, we lost our beloved Ann Elizabeth, peacefully, at home surrounded by her loving family and friends. She survived cancer for 12 years and fought valiantly to be with us as long as the Lord would allow.
Born to Frank and Jeanne Chupick in Lorain on January 9th, 1952, she spent her days as a young girl growing up along the shore of Lake Erie, where she and her father Frank were members of the Polish Fisherman's Club, spending many days fishing for perch along the shoreline.
She attended St. Anthony's elementary and St. Mary's and Lorain Catholic High Schools in Lorain, where she was named homecoming queen, graduating in 1970. She attended Akron University, receiving a degree in accounting and starting her career with Escott and Co. in Kent where she worked for over 30 years, also working for Jack Kohl Agencies in Ravenna.
Ann was a strong woman, proud of her Irish and Hungarian heritage. She loved her old record collection and spent many nights listening to old records with her mother, Jeanne, and at home with her family. She loved to read, watch tennis, camp in the forests of Pennsylvania, and spend time outside in the sun with her kitchen garden and many flowerbeds. She loved to laugh and to make others laugh and smiled every day until the end. Ann never had a negative thing to say of anyone and will be forever loved by all who knew her and her friendly smile.
On September 19, 1980 she married John L. Finley. Together they had three beautiful children. She is preceded in death by both her parents and grandparents. She is survived by her husband, John; sons, Daniel and Patrick; daughter, Molly and her husband Jeff along with their children Alec and Avery, who she will forever watch over from her place in heaven. She also leaves behind, to miss her, sister, Kathie and husband Bill; niece, Leanne and her children; and nephew, Michael and his wife and his daughter. Her best friends, Carol and Michael, Gene and Joe, Lyna and Tom, Jeff and Cyndi, Len and Denise, Walt and Cheri and their families and so many true friends, cousins, family and extended family will have and share many memories of Ann for years to come.
We all love you Ann and will have you in our sweet memories for all the rest of our lives. We know in our hearts that you are with The Lord, The Angels and the family and friends who have gone ahead. Please, Jesus, watch over our wife, mother and friend.
