Annie Gibson Irving passed away at her home in Long Beach, CA on November 28, at the age of 97. She was born in Lanarkshire, Scotland and came to the United States as a young school girl. Annie was the last surviving founding member of Maplecrest Golf Course. The other founding members were her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas B. Irving, and two brothers, Jim and Robert. Miss Irving graduated from Kent State High School and Kent State University, and then earned her MA from the University of Chicago. As an educator, she was a teacher, administrator, and vice-principal in the California School System for 25 years. She and her parents established residency in Los Angeles County during the 1950's.

She is survived by her nephew, James Irving of Tallmadge and his daughter, Mrs. Cathy Sterle of Akron; Lela Irving in Kent, widow of Thomas W., their son, Brian, in Kent, and daughter, Mrs. Linda Martin, and her two daughters Abigail and Anna, who also reside in Kent. Survived also, by her niece, Mrs. Bonnie B. Horton in Long Beach, CA, her daughter, Kimberly Anne Bouzguenda in Shoreview, MN, her son, Ezekiel Miller a member of the United States Navy stationed in Norfolk, VA, her daughters, Bonnie Miller, Isabel Miller, and Emna Bouzguenda; and by Mrs. Horton's son Eric Culbertson in Loveland, CO, his three daughters, Alia, Yasmine, Olivia, and son, Quentin.

Miss Irving will be interred at Restland Cemetery, Brimfield in the family plot on Friday, December 14. Her expressed wish was for a private graveside gathering. Arrangements are being handled by Bissler and Sons Funeral Home, Kent.
