Anthony J. Mazanek, Jr., 88, of Kent, died suddenly Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at his residence. He was born February 15, 1922 in Kent, to Anthony J. and Victoria Mazanek Sr. He was a veteran of the Navy serving during World War II. He was employed by Gougler Machine where he worked as a machinist. Anthony played varsity football at Kent Roosevelt High School for four years. He enjoyed playing softball, bowling, golf and football. Anthony was a member of the Kent VFW and was a life member of the Kent American Legion. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rosemary (Yenchik); sons, Steven A. (Patricia Marie) Mazanek of Hurleyville, NY and Alan (Patricia Ann) Mazanek of Rootstown; daughters, June (Robert) Sitler of Deland, FL and Joyce (Thomas) Kehoe of Shelburne Falls, MA; grandchildren, John Sitler, Chaya Sitler, Jennifer Kehoe, Nathan Kehoe, Katie Mazanek, Cody Mazanek and Arya Mazanek. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Stanley and Charles Mazanek; sisters, Irene Robinson, Jean Pacic and Agnes Swartout. Calling hours will be held 4-6 PM Monday, July 12th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent, OH. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 13th at St. Patrick Church. Burial will be in Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent.
