Arlene B. Pittinger

Arlene B. Pittinger, 84, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away after a short, courageous battle with cancer. She was born on 7/14/28 in Akron to Fred Sr. and Mary Mae (Markovics) Pittinger. She was the primary caregiver for her brother, Fred Jr. for 41 years.
Arlene was a graduate of St. Mary High School and Hammel College. She was the Senior Vice President and Treasurer of First Federal Savings and Loan in Akron until she retired in 1991. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Cuyahoga Falls. She served on the Board of the Summit County United Way.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Arthur Pittinger.
She is survived by her brothers Fred of Cuyahoga Falls and George (Claudia) of Kent, sister-in-law, Jeannette Pittinger of Silver Lake, nephews Mark (Penny), John (Cecelia), Michael, Jerome (Cathy), Joseph (Dawn) and Thomas (Bridget), nieces Kathleen (Richard) Hughes, Patricia (Dwite) Polos, Mary (Chuck) Klawuhn, Susan (Tim) Simenc, Jacquelyn (Jim) Lovelace, Michele (Bryan) Adams, Therese (Pete) Ware, and Joan (Tom) Khoury; 38 great nieces and nephews and 15 great-great nieces and nephews and cousins Mary Quinn, Margaret Refile, Genevieve Obarski, Helen Lange, Mary Williams and Sister Regina Marie Pittinger.
Calling hours will be 1:00 - 4:00 PM, Sunday, July 29th at Bissler and Sons Funeral Home in Kent.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 A.M Monday, July 30th at Immaculate Heart of Mary 1905 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls with Father James Singler officiating. THE FUNERAL PROCESSION WILL ASSEMBLE AT THE CHURCH.
Her body will be laid to rest at All Saints Cemetery on Highland Road in Northfield
The family wishes to thank the staff of nurses and doctors at Summa Western Reserve Hospital especially, Miechelle Montgomery, Dr. Lindsay Hines and the staff of the Hospice/Palliative Care Unit.
