Arnedia R. Trotter, 82, of West Maple Street, Kent, went home to be with the Heavenly Father, Wednesday, November 5, 2014, at her home with her family.
She was born September 19, 1932, in Marion, Arkansas to Emmitt and Eula Rogers. She retired from Kent State University after working for 36.5 years. She was saved at the age of 10 years old, where she was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Marion.
Arnedia married her late husband, Lawrence J. Trotter Sr. on June 29, 1952. They moved to Kent in 1957. Three months later, she joined Union Baptist Church, where Rev. Fred D. Thomas Sr. was Pastor. She joined the usher board. She was also one of the recent mothers of the church. She was a loving and loyal and faithful member of Union Baptist Church. She loved doing missionary work and spending time with her family and gardening. She was an avid bowler.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda F. Trotter; sons, Lawrence J. Trotter Jr., and Lester R. Trotter, all of Kent. She had grandchildren: Isaac J. Worthy Sr. (Dayna), Tyrell G. Kendrick, Lester R. Trotter II, Jasper C. Trotter, Michael D. Trotter, Alycia A. Trotter, Naeem Trotter, Jaleni Trotter, D'ono and T'ono Sanders; nine great grandchildren; and sisters, Alma Russell of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Marva Thomas (Dempsey) of Linden, Texas; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her best friend, Mrs. Gladys Watts.
She was preceded in death by her late husband, Lawrence J. Trotter Sr.; parents; brothers, Bueford and Samuel Rogers; and sisters, Lula Jackson and Ozell Batson.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 11th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Dalrey L. Trotter officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Burial will be held at Standing Rock Cemetery.
