Barbara Jane Berger, 86, of Kent, OH, died Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at her home in Kent, OH.

She was born August 2, 1924, in Evansville, IN, to Robert Lee and Agnes Lee (Mayse) Steadman. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Kent, United Methodist Women, Miriam Circle, Intercessory Prayer Group, Bible Studies, Sunday School, former Communion Steward, Church Women United, Living Room Dialogues, and former member of the United Presbyterian Church.
Barbara was an avid baseball fan attending the World Series and All Star Games in Cleveland.

She is survived by son Robert Walter Berger of Deerfield; daughters: Kenna Jane Roberts of Kent, Laura (James) Mullen of Kent, and Karen (Tom) Drotar of Kent; sister-in-law, Dorothy Johnson of Evansville, IN; grandchildren: Colin Kenneth Berger, Michael (Patty) Roberts, Andrew (Yvonne) Roberts, Maria (Bob) Lane, Brian (Khristin) Paisley, Patrick (Sarah Kline) Paisley, Abbey (Shawn Russell) Paisley, Elisabeth (Liz) Drotar; great grandchildren: Kate Jane, Nick Allen, and Olivia Jane Roberts, and Paul Joseph Paisley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth W. Berger; son, Donald Bruce Berger; grandson, Daniel Roberts; granddaughter, Alexis Ida Berger; sister, Mary Kate Tower; and brother-in-law, William Johnson.

The family wishes to thank Odyssey Hospice nurses for their loving care.

The family will receive friends 5-8PM, Sunday June 26th, at Bissler and Sons Funeral Home 628 West Main Street, Kent. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday June 27th at The United Methodist Church of Kent with Rev. Doug Denton officiating. Burial will be held at Standing Rock Cemetery.
