Barbara Sue (Kennedy) Lauck

Barbara Sue Lauck, age 81, of Kent, OH, passed away peacefully surrounded by her daughters and son in laws on Monday, January 1, 2024, at Hudson Grande Memory Care.

Barbara was born November 19, 1942, in Auburn, IN to the late Estel and Dorothy (Gump) Kennedy.

A Real-Life Disney Princess: she had regular visits by all the local wildlife at her home in Brady Lake including a baby deer that she fed apples and carrots while the deer’s mother watched from a distance.  She taught her children and grandchildren that shoes were optional, being barefoot is mandatory, and that extra homemade frosting goes on graham crackers.

Barbara enjoyed traveling in their motor home with her long-time husband Ted where they managed to visit all 50 states. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking extra special birthday cakes for each family member, canning vegetables from her garden, collecting rocks, and spending time with family and friends. She was an active member of the Lake Brady United Methodist Church for most of her life and has many friends and family that will miss her loving kindness.

Barbara is survived by daughters, Bethany Lauck, Tracy (George) Krym; Tedina (Chad) Hodges, 11 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ted of 58 years, daughter Tabitha, and parents.

Memorial services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory, 628 W. Main St. Kent, Ohio 44240, with Kevin O’Brien officiating.  Memorials may be made in her name to Alzheimer Foundation at www.alz.org.
