Barb Nering, originally of Ravenna, peacefully left her Earthly body on October 26, 2017 surrounded by family. Barb was born in 1946 in Sistersville, West Virginia to Willard and Garnett Howell. She is survived by her sisters, Melanie Carnes of Columbus and Devonna Howell of Key West; her husband of 50 years, Les Nering of Brimfield; and their rescue dog Dixie. She is also survived by her children, Michael (Luz) of Dover New Hampshire and Michelle (Joe) Culley of Kent; her nephew, David Carnes; and her dear sister-friend, Polly Kordnak.
In her professional life, Barb was a successful realtor and once said that nothing was more satisfying than handing someone the keys to their new home. Barb enjoyed reading true crime novels and going to the Brimfield Garden club. She was a great friend to many.
But in Barb's sky there were 5 stars that shined brighter than all the rest. They are named Maya, Lucas, Aliyah, Liam and Lina--her 5 grandchildren. Nothing made her happier than hanging out with her grandchildren, except perhaps telling others about her grandchildren.
Donations can be made in Barb's name to The American Cancer Society. The family will have a Celebration of Life for family and friends in the near future.
