Beryl J. "Dolly" Cowling, 86, of Kent, died Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Hts. She was born August 17, 1924 in Cleveland to Frank and Ida (Blaumann) Bates. She drove school bus for Orange, Streetsboro and Kent City Schools. She had also been President of O.A.P.S.E. both in Streetsboro and Kent. Also, she sold Avon for 40 plus years. She is survived by her husband, William, whom she married on July 21, 1948; sons, William (Patricia) of Stow, Thomas (Mary) of Medina, and John (Barbara) of Streetsboro; daughter, Mindy (David) Rashley of Howard; grandchildren, Heathyr (David) Ullmo of Stow, David (Anna) Rashley Jr. of Fredericktown, Gretl (Jason) Whiteleather of Minerva, John Cowling of Streetsboro, Ted Cowling of Streetsboro, Grady Cowling of Stow, Shawn (Paula) Cowling of Haughton, LA, and Sherri (Kevin) Shinsky of Medina; and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty and Ruth; and brother, Bob. Calling hours will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday, November 28th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent with the Rosary at 7:45 P.M. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Monday, November 29th at St. Patrick Church with Father Richard Pentello officiating. Private burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg.
