Bill F. Nash, 81, of Aurora, died Tuesday, December 6, 2011 of natural causes at Akron City Hospital Medical Center.

He was born July 3, 1930 in Akron, to Leslie and Irene (Beech) Nash. Bill was a graduate of Granger High School then attended Kent State University graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree. He was a veteran of the Army during the Korean War. Bill was President of Huntington National Bank of Kent, then he became Executive Vice President of First Merit Bank until retiring in 1995. Bill was formerly on the Board of Trustee's of Kent State University, was a founding member of the James A. Michener Foundation, former member and President of the Kent City Schools Board of Education. He was a member of the Kent Rotary Club and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. Bill loved piloting his own aircraft which included balloons, gliders, helicopters and fixed wing aircraft. He enjoyed traveling, golf and woodworking. Bill was an avid marathon runner and gymnast at KSU.

He is survived by son, Jim (Joanne) Nash of Peninsula; daughters, Jeri K. (Andy) Gonta of Brighton, MI and Jodi Lynn Nash of Bath; grandchildren, Kaitlin Gonta, Megan Gonta, Cody Nash and Kelsey Nash; brother, Rick Nash; sisters, June Opplinger of Lodi and Dawn Hahn of St. Louis, MO. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Nash; brothers, Earle, Edward and Glen Nash; sisters, Jeanie Shega, and Retha Nash.

Calling hours will be held 1-5 PM Saturday, December 10th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Sunday from 12-2 PM at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in, Kent. Private burial will be held at Granger Fairview Cemetery in Medina County. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association C/o Alzheimer's Research, 23215 Commerce Park Drive, Suite 300, Beachwood, OH 44122.
