Brian Lee Giles

September 12, 1959 — September 12, 2014

Brian Lee Giles, 55, of Kent, went home to be with the Lord on September 12, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Akron on February 14, 1959 to Ernest Junior Giles and the late Emagene Elaine Giles, Brian was an avid sports fan, athletic, and patriotic, working for 13 years as the regional sales manager for National Write Your Congressman. Brian was a 1977 graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School in Kent and attended Riverwood Community Chapel in Stow. He loved to travel, enjoyed working on cars, and found true joy in spending time with his family and friends that meant so much to him. His witty sense of humor brightened the lives of those around him and his caring, fun-loving personality will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

Brian is preceded in death by his mother, Emagene E. (Oldfield) Giles, and sister, Lori A. Trusso. He is survived by his beloved children, Jared L. Giles of Hartville and Megan R. Giles of Ravenna, and their mother, Susan A. Giles of Kent; grandson, Bryson L. Giles of Hartville; loving companion, Tara Ailes of Kent; brothers, Ernest R. (Sue) Giles of Pottsboro, Texas, and David M. (Cindy) Giles of Kent; sisters, Linda J. (Russ) Heiser of Green, Kathleen E. (David) Gilson and Sandra L. (Daniel) Collins, both of Hartville; brother-in-law, Bill Trusso of Kent; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at Riverwood Community Chapel in Stow on Thursday, September 18th, 2014 at 5:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, or Akron General Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service. Special thanks to Akron General Hospice for their great care.
