Caitlin Ygraine Clingman was born September 5, 1989. She died at age 27 in her Barberton home on August 19, 2017. Caitlin was known for a smile that could light up the room and her wry sense of humor. She was a loving mother with a warm heart and a voracious reader with a natural intelligence and innate curiosity. Caitlin trained to be a medical technician.
Caitlin was an active member of the Kent Natural Foods Coop and participated in The New World Children's Theatre through Kent's Standing Rock Cultural Arts. Caitlin took every art class available at her alma mater, Kent Roosevelt High School. She graduated in 2007.
A deeply spiritual person, Caitlin was actively working a program in Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous. At the time of her death, she was committed to her own recovery and the recovery of others in treatment. She has died of addiction, which is a fatal brain disease, if not effectively treated.
Caitlin is survived by her daughters Abigail (6) and Lily (4) and husband Monty Butler, as well as her parents Elisabeth Ygraine and Brian Willmott, and her father, Wayne Clingman, siblings Anya Zamiar (Chris), Rowan Clingman (Greta Cawley), Raven Brandon-Willmott (Dhyani Jentner), and Tristan Willmott (Erin Haines). A memorial service is planned at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Kent, Ohio on 16 September at 3pm.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that the community visit Caitlin's Go Fund Me page to help contribute toward funeral costs (https://www.gofundme.com/caitlin-burial-fund). Any remaining funds will be used to support recovery programs in Summit and Portage Counties and establish scholarship for her two daughters.
