Carol Erion Neff, 79, of Mogadore, died Sunday, November 8th.
Carol was born on July 1, 1936 in Warsaw, NY to Henry and Carrie (Schneckenberger) Hill. She was a lifetime resident of Kent, until she moved in with her daughter Karen. She was employed by Kent State University as Administrative Secretary to the Director of Audio Visual Services for 30 years. She retired in 1998. She continued to work for a few years at Kauffman's, now Macy's, and developed some close friendships. During her life she was very active in various organizations including University Women, League of Women voters, Democratic Portage County Central Committee and Served on Kent City Council for 6 years in Ward 6. She was a member of Kent United Methodist Church, and an AVID Bridge player. She was always known for her smile and kindness towards all that had the pleasure of knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Vernon D. Neff, eldest son Steven Tyler Neff, and daughter-in-law Deborah (Marney) Neff. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Jeannine (William) Sauders of Mogadore; sons, Paul Vernon Neff of Orlando, FL and Andrew Charles Neff of North Canton; grandchildren, Jessica (Ray) Mathes, Danielle (Waylon) Ackerman, Amanda Patterson, Stephanie (Rick) Rollyson, Stephanie Nicole, Ashleigh and Austin; great grandchildren, Wyatt, Tristan, Ryleigh, Trenton and Owen; brother, Henry (Sandra) Hill, niece, Adrienne (Dave) Roark; and nephew, Ty (Alla) Hill.
Calling hours will be held 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Friday, November 20th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory in Kent, OH.
