Carole A. "Carrie" Shelly

Carole A. “Carrie” Shelly, 71, of Kent, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at Tamarack Ridge Health and Rehabilitation. She was born in Cleveland on May 3, 1953 to the late Ralph and Ora Louise Shelly and was a 1971 graduate of Ravenna High School. Carrie went on to earn her associate degree in social services from the University of Akron.

She was employed with Kent Social Services at the Miller Community House for 25 years. Carrie was an animal lover and enjoyed bird watching. She was an avid reader and had a magnificent clock collection. She loved spending time with her family and friends and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter Ashley Mariah Smith.

She leaves her daughters, Mary (Billy) Dengler, Christina (Don Bowersox) Osborne and Heather (Chris) Syphrit; grandchildren, Mallory Rhome, Jason Rhome Jr., Becca (Jamal Parks) Osborne and Mya Syphrit; great grandson River Parks; and her sister Sharon (Lloyd Culpepper) Shelly.

Funeral services will be Friday, March 7, 2025 at 11:00AM at Bissler and Sons Funeral Home, 628 W. Main St. Kent, OH 44240. Interment will follow at Standing Rock Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, March 6, 2025 from 6:00-8:00PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Miller Community House, 1211 Anita Dr. Kent, OH 44240.
