Carole E. Hoover, 73, of Brady Lake Village, died Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family after an eight month illness.
She was born September 11, 1940 in Youngstown to Harold and Elizabeth (Curtis) Baird. She served as and retired as the executive secretary to the President of Schneller, Inc. She was a former member of the Indian Trails Chapter of IAAP. She took great pride in the fact that she was a member of the National Honor Society at South High School in Youngstown. She was the secretary to the Planning and Zoning Commission at Brady Lake Village. She was a poll worker for the Portage County Board of Elections. She volunteered with her husband at the Phyllis Zumkehr County Clothing Center. She was an avid traveler and loved spending time with her family. She especially adored her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Hoover, whom she married on November 26, 1960; daughters, Jill (Dean) Hoover-Correll of Brady Lake and Terri (Randy) Hoover-Reed of Brimfield; grandsons, Jake Hoover Correll, Josh Lee Correll, and Adam Richard Reed; and sister, Donna Borcik of Youngstown. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter; and her parents.
She graciously donated her corneas so that others might have the gift of sight.
Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Monday, September 8th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent. Cremation has already taken place and private burial will be at Grandview Cemetery.
