Nim worked as a nanny and a detective in Las Vegas then she moved to New York City where she was employed at Lord and Taylor and Shriner's Hospital. Nim moved back home to attend the University of Salt Lake and joined the Civil Air patrol as a Cessna 172 pilot where she met her first husband, Edgar Stone, of Stow, Ohio. Later they moved to Ohio where Nim worked as an activities coordinator for memory care residents and the Portage County Battered Woman's Shelter, Safer Futures.
