Charles W. Bailey, 87, of Upper Arlington and formerly of Stow died Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus. He was born August 6, 1923 in Richmond, VA to George Bailey and Nora (Fogg) Bailey-Greene. He lived in Ohio for over 40 years, but he was always a native Virginian at heart. Prior to moving to Ohio, he lived in Pittsburgh, PA, Fort Wayne, IN, and Farmington, CT. He was a veteran of the Merchant Marines during World War II and he was a successful businessman. He worked for many years in the paint business as a salesman, sales manager, and as a paint store owner. When he retired, he was the owner of Akron Paint Inc. He is survived by sons, including Charles (Jane Segal) Bailey Jr., Terry (Betty Racco) Bailey, and Jeff (Terri) Bailey, and grandsons Kyle, Adam, and Michael Bailey. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Rebecca (Ransone); brothers, Edward and William Bailey; step-father, Charles Greene; and mother, Nora (Fogg) Greene. Calling hours will be held 2:30-4:30 p.m. Sunday, August 22 at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Richmond, VA.
