Charles Mervin Clicquennoi, age 69, of Kent, died on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at Summa Akron City Hospital.
Charles was born April 16, 1951 in Rochester, NY to Mervin and Doris (VanLare) Clicquennoi.
He Graduated Class of 1969 from Penfield High School, Penfield, NY. Graduated Class of 1973 from Hiram College, Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree. Graduated Class of 1974 from University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada with a master’s degree. Attended Kent State University, ABD of PhD in 1976.
He married Marina Gagliardi, of Canfield, on March 17, 1973.
He was employed by the State of Ohio as a ReEmployment Associate. Where he helped many workers return to work after illness or injury. He retired in 2005.
After his retirement, he spent many happy hours and days playing with and interacting with his grandsons. His great joy was planning for and taking them on vacations and trips. They were the center of his world.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marina Clicquennoi of Kent; daughters, Sara (Kevin) Devine of Silver Lake, and Jaime Meris Clicquennoi of Atlanta, GA; grandsons, Marcus Quinn Devine, Arthur Edmund Devine, and Emrys Eoin Devine; brother, James E. Clicquennoi of Tyngsboro, MA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mervin Clicquennoi, Doris Clicquennoi.
Calling hours will be held 2 - 4 PM on Saturday, October 24th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent. Cremation services in the care of Bissler & Sons Crematory. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Stewart’s Caring Place: Cancer Wellness Center, 3501 Ridge Park Drive, Fairlawn, OH 44333.
