Charles A. Hartley, 95, of Kent, died Friday, August 17, 2018, at The Briarwood in Stow.
He was born January 13, 1923 in Kent to Claude M. and Kathryn (Kane) Hartley. He was a veteran of the Army during World War II. He worked as a mechanic for the Erie Railroad, Lampson and Sessions, and Davey Compressor. In the 1920's and 1930's, he was a member of the Brady Lake Methodist Church. For most of his adult life he was an active member of the Kent Church of the Brethren. Most recently he had been a member of the Springfield Church of the Brethren.
He is survived by his brother, Robert L. Hartley (Phyllis) of Clay, KY and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Wanda J. Hartley, and siblings, Pearl E. Quine, William R. Hartley, Thomas C. Hartley, James F. Hartley, and Mary K. Kleinhans.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, August 25th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Cindy Peel officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the services.
