Charles A. Loudin Sr., 79, of Ravenna, died Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at his home.
He was born June 22, 1937 in French Creek, WV to Clovis A. and Beryl N. (Howes) Loudin. He was an extremely loving and devoted husband, father, and friend. He was a proud employee of the Colonial Rubber Company of Ravenna for 61 years. He was a Ravenna Moose Club Ritual Team member, and a proud 5-Gallon blood donor for the American Red Cross. In 2000, he was named the Tutor of the Year for the Adult Basic Literacy Education Literary Program through Maplewood Career Center where he taught adult math. He was an avid reader and Scrabble player, a lifelong Cleveland Indians fan, and a lover of music. His warmth and endless humor will be missed.
He is survived by his wife, Nadine R. (Kellison) Loudin. They were married on September 1, 1978, and celebrated the renewal of their vows on June 17, 2017. He is also survived by his children, Cindy (Stephen) Bell of Mantua, Janet (Joe) Sorbara of Hillsboro, Donna Grimes of Sahuarita, AZ, Charles A. Loudin, Jr. of Amherst, NY, Ciarra (Nathan) Brunn of Ravenna, and Zachary Loudin of Cambridge, MA; sixteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Helen Cash, Eleanor Neil, and Evelyn Wine, all of Somersville, WV. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, John W. Loudin.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, June 24 at Ravenna First Church of the Nazarene. Memorial contributions may be made to a food pantry of your choice.
