Charles J. Pacic, 97, of Kent, died Sunday, July 8, 2018, at UH Portage Medical Center.
He was born May 24, 1921 in Kent, to Charles and Julie (Savage) Pacic. He joined the Army serving in Europe during World War II war and received 2 Purple Hearts and the Bronze Star. He was a member of St. Patrick Church in Kent. Charles owned and operated Grand Upholstery in Kent for more than 30 years. Charles loved Notre Dame Football and the Cleveland Indians. He was a member of the Kent American Legion #496 and the VFW. He loved traveling especially to France to visit with his wife's family.
Charles was a well-loved man and never met a person he didn't like. His biggest love in life was spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, sister and extended family.
He is survived by son, Terry Pacic of Kent; daughter, Josette (Lee) Atkinson of Kent; grandsons, Gerald Keefer, Cody Atkinson and Jesse Atkinson; great grandson, Dylan Atkinson; and sister, Lillian Picelle of Rootstown. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cecile Pacic; son, Gary Pacic; brothers, Jim and Duke Pacic.
Funeral mass will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, July 12th at St. Patrick Church with Father Richard Pentello officiating. Burial will be held at Standing Rock Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Patrick's School Endowment Fund, 127 Portage Street, Kent, OH 44240. Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory are handling the arrangements.
