Clarence M. Longstreth, 86, of Kent, died Monday, April 19, 2010 at Robinson Memorial Hospital. He was born July 17, 1923 in Santoy, to Lawson and Eva (Ansel) Longstreth. He was a veteran of the Army during World War II. He retired from the Streetsboro City Schools as a custodian. Clarence was a member of the Full Gospel House of Prayer for over 40 years and was a strong believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. He loved playing guitar in church, as well as, at home with his family and friends. He was an avid sports fan and horseshoe champion. Clarence enjoyed gardening and camping. Most of all Clarence was a loving family man with a sense of humor that always kept everyone on their toes. He is survived by his wife, Gladys B.(Delin) Longstreth, to whom he was married for 61 years; daughters, Jean (Harold) Myers of Kent, Ellen (Lanville) Elkins of Kent, Cindi Harriman of Fresno, Cheryl Longstreth of Ravenna, Sue (Mark Charlton) Bernadine of Kent and Nancy (Tom) Haymaker of Ravenna; twenty three grandchildren; twenty eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Larry Longstreth; grandson, Ben Proctor; brothers, Gerald Longstreth, Fred Longstreth and Frank Longstreth. Calling hours will be held 2-4 and 7-9 PM Thursday, April 22nd at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, April 23rd at the Full Gospel House Prayer,8895 St. Rt. 43, Streetsboro with Rev. Darrel Libengood officiating. Burial will be in Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent.
