Clyde Benjamin Hoffman Jr. "Butch", "Benji", 56, of Suffield, went to be with the Lord Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Akron City Hospital Medical Center.
He was born September 23, 1954 in Akron to Clyde B. Hoffman Sr. and Joan E. Shoenfelt.
After graduating from Stow High School and the University of Akron, Clyde, was an Assistant Comptroller at Jaite Packaging in Peninsula, under the mentorship of owner, the late Ernie Preston. Clyde went on to earn his CPA license. In 1991 he moved to Naples, Fla. to be the Comptroller for Naples Printing. Clyde returned to Ohio in 1995 after developing kidney disease. He was blessed to receive a kidney transplant in 2001. He most recently was employed with Akron Auto Auction, and was a self employed Tax Consultant.
Butch enjoyed boating, waterskiing, and most water sports. He had three cats he cherished, and loved watching their mischievous antics
He is survived by; mother, Joan (Henry) Shoenfelt of Rootstown. Brother, Eric (Paula) Hoffman of McDonald, OH; sisters, Gayle (Darrell) Strizzi of Rootstown, and Miriam Shoenfelt of Streetsboro. nephews, Shane, Trent (Angela), Trevor, Jacob, nieces Heidi and Claire; great nieces Kyleigh, Kayden and Keirsten; great nephew Drake; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Clyde B. Hoffman Sr.
The family will receive friends 3-4 PM Sunday, September 25th, 2011, at East Market Church Of God, 2084 East Market Street, Akron, followed by Memorial Service at 4 PM with Pastor Rick Fuson officiating.
