Colleen McGraw rejoined her best friend & husband Bob “Potter” McGraw on April 14, 2020.
Colleen was born June 28, 1928 in East Liverpool to Earl, Leota Cochrane. Both she and her husband graduated together from East Liverpool High School. Colleen was a graduate of the Presbyterian University Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. She worked as an RN in Portage County for 43 years. She was a former director of the Kent Visiting Nurse Association and helped start their Well Child Clinics, Caring Home Health Agency and Portage County Hospice Program.
She is survived by her son Mark (Mary Ann) McGraw of Aurora and her daughter, Debbie (Todd) Strasser of Cincinnati. Both Colleen and Bob always graciously accepted the fact that their only grandchildren were born with “four legs and tails that wagged.”
Colleen was a member of the Kent United Church of Christ and Circle E. Coterie II and Kent Ridge Silver Sneakers Yoga, and Red Hat Society. Colleen and Bob enjoyed their extensive traveling that included 26 national parks, fourteen European countries (with former high school classmates), and all but two states in U.S. in addition they looked forward to their fifteen family ‘mystery’ Trips with their children. Also, they enjoyed their many friends and family get togethers both in Kent, and Florida, where they wintered.
A memorial service will be held at future time. Cremation has taken place at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
