Craig James Johnson, 61, of Kent, died Monday, August 7, 2017, in Ashtabula.
He was born April 12, 1956 in Geneva, to Voyne Ace and Ora (Hess) Johnson. Craig was especially proud of his grandchildren; they could rely on their "Pop" to give them sweets and get them out of trouble. He took great pride in being a truck driver and could give directions anywhere.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah (Goga) Johnson, to whom he was married for 39 years; sons, Ryan (Jessie Purdie) Johnson of Ravenna and James A. (Kassie Cadle) Johnson of Kent; daughters, Michele (Tony Kaminski) Johnson of Kent and Jessica Johnson Salamon of Kent; grandchildren, Asher Salamon, Kalina Kaminski, Kaynan Kaminski, Koltyn Johnson and Atticus Womack; brothers, Mark (Kelly) Johnson of Texas and Jay (Tammy) Johnson of Streetsboro; sisters, Linda (Joe) Marinelli of Arizona, Judith (Felix) Sanchez of Colorado, Darlene Hess of Mentor; special friend, Ray Merkley of Harpersfield; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Voyne and Ora Johnson; brothers, Robert and Randall Johnson.
Calling hours being held 2 - 4:30 PM Saturday, August 12 at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent, where funeral services will be held following calling hours at 4:30 PM, with Pastor Phil Hoverstock officiating.
