Dan died at home on October 23rd after a stoic and brave one-year stand off with cancer. Though he lost his courageous battle, his strong spirit and sense of humor were ever present throughout this difficult challenge. He was a landscaper who enjoyed his friendships with his co-workers and fellow Nascar fans. Dan held the office of Chief and was recognized after his retirement for his 31 years of distinguished service to the Brady Lake Fire Dept. where he volunteered from the age of 18 years-old.
It is with gratitude we thank his devoted and loving companion of 17 years, Joyce Griggy, whose strength and compassion enabled him to endure his illness with grace; along with his extended family B.J. Wojtkowski, Ava (who brightened his days), Michael, Gabi and Seth Bauman.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Alice (Parker) Adolph of Ravenna; brother, Thomas (Terry) Adolph of Ravenna; sisters, Patricia (Tom ) Hodges of Akron and Julie (Sonny) Richards of Kent; nephews and niece, Patrick (Lisa) Adolph of Rootstown, Bryan Adolph of Ravenna, Matthew Hodges of Akron and Rachel and Andrew Richards of Kent. Dan was preceded in death by his father Clement A. Adolph.
We would like to thank all Dan's relatives, extended family, and caring friends. Your kind words and thoughtful gestures have been a source of comfort this past year.
