Our hearts are broken as we announce the passing of David Lee Fenstermacher on Sunday morning, March 23, 2025, due to three months of failing health. He fought so very hard every day with courage and dignity.
David was a graduate of Kent Roosevelt High School, where he excelled in the game of golf.
Upon graduation, David proudly enlisted and served his country in The United States Navy from 1966 to 1970, when he was honorably discharged. He was stationed one year on the USS Vulcan (AR-5) in Saigon during the Vietnam War.
David loved the sun and the water. He enjoyed playing golf with Michael at the Kent State Golf Course, boating the waters of West Branch, catching the “big” fish at Mosquito Lake and watching the Indy 500 and NASCAR races.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Annabelle (Hildebrand) Fenstermacher.
He is survived by his beloved son and devoted caregiver, Michael David; and Michael’s mother, Sharon.
David’s family would like to thank Wing A at Sprenger Health Care Heather Knoll, WellSpring Hospice, the Veteran’s Administration, Ravenna Avenue Church of God and Bissler and Sons Funeral Home for the excellent care, love and support of our loved one.
A private family service was held at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
