David Allen 'Papooh' Hansen, 71, of Hudson, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Akron General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on February 27, 1945 in Kent, to Albert P. and Viola K. (Schrader) Hansen. David was a 1963 graduate of Kent Roosevelt High School. David served in the US Army from June 1963 until June 1966, where he met the love of his life while stationed in Alaska. He was a member of Ravenna Sons of The American Legion, American Legion Riders, Kent American Legion, Stow Veterans of Foreign Wars, and CWA Local 84707. He enjoyed working in the yard, restoring his 1964 Pontiac GTO and riding his H-D Fat Boy. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and telling great stories and jokes.
He is survived by his wife, Fayma (Adams) Hansen, whom he married on January 17,1966; daughter, Beverly Scott of Stow; son, Matthew (Janice) Hansen of Stow; grandchildren, Katelyn (Mike Lorentz) Collier of Hartville, Kayla (Mike Majewski) Collier of Cleveland Heights, and Adam Hansen of Stow; brother, Mickey (Vicky) Hansen of Chandler, AZ; and sister-in-Iaw, Sandy Hansen of Brimfield.
He was preceded in death by his furry child Zoe; parents, Albert P. and Viola K. Hansen; brothers, Larry A. and Edward Hansen; sister, Candy Hansen; and son-in-law Jerry Scott
Calling hours will be held 2-4 & 6-8 PM Saturday, May 28th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home 628 West Main Street, Kent, where a memorial service will be held at 8:00 PM with Kevin O'Brien officiating.
