David R. Kline

David Ralph Kline, age 76, of Wadsworth, OH, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 6, 2024.

David was born January 15, 1948 in Portsmouth, OH to the late Ralph and Rita (O'Donnell) Kline.

David attended Kent State High School. After graduation, David attended Kent State University and majored in film directing. David loved being in the entertainment industry and was quite the thespian. He also traveled around Europe in college with his friends.

David loved doing standup comedy and was the head of the Kent State Student Union. David was very talented and highly intelligent. He loved his family most of all.

When his father or mother became ill, David moved back into the family home to take care of them. He was a great care giver always giving love and patience. David was a person you can always depend on.

He is survived by siblings, Maryellen Kline of Medina, OH, Tom Kline of Wadsworth, OH, Raymond Kline (Bonnie) of Kent, OH, and Janet Chlebina ( Paul) of Green, OH; and nieces and nephews, Kelly Englert (Aaron), Tommy Englert (Allie), Renea Lenkey (Tyler), Daniel Kline (Caitlin), Adam Kline (Madeline), Crystal Wanamaker (Jack); also survived by great nieces and nephews, Peter & Micah Englert, Scarlett and Addalyn Lenkey and Ella Kline; plus many families and friends he dearly loved.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Rita (O'Donnell) Kline.

Calling hours will be held 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM Sunday, June 16, 2024 at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory, 628 W. Main St. Kent, OH 44240.  A Catholic Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Monday, June 17, 2024, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 313 N Depeyster St. Kent, OH 44240, with Rev. David Bridling as Celebrant.  Interment will follow at Standing Rock Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the May 4th Memorial Museum and Foundation.
