Delbert Ward Wilson, 79, of Randolph, died Tuesday, November 8, 2011 his home.

He was born October 31, 1932 in Barberton to Delbert Ernest and Cora Etta (Morr) Wilson. He was a veteran of the Air Force during the Korean War. Delbert was retired from General Tire and the Atwater Post Office.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian R. (Brooks) Wilson, whom he married on February 14, 1959; sons, Patrick Wilson of Randolph, Michael Wilson of Akron, and David (Cathy) Shaffer of Pittsburgh, PA; daughters, Marsha Shipley of Akron, Ruth (Steve) Matheos of Marlboro, and Cheryl (Ray) Shamblin of Atwater; nine grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Larry Wilson; sisters, Margaret Carter, Alice Madden, Lucy Kuba, Jessie Nickols, and Joyce Bubner; and brothers, Robert Wilson and Richard Wilson.

Private family services have been held. The family would like to send a special heartfelt "Thank You" to the wonderful people at Robinson Visiting Nurse and Hospice. So they request memorial contributions be made to RMH Foundation-Visiting Nurse-Hospice, POB 1204, Ravenna, OH 44266-1204. Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory are handling the arrangements.
