Delores J. "Dee" Recznik, 87, of Kent, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Summa Akron City Hospital.
She was born November 24, 1928 in Lorain, OH to Anthony and Gladys (Tanski) Drobiszewski. Delores grew up on the shores of Lake Erie where she met the love of her life, John, a lifeguard on Lakeview Beach. Little did they know then that they would spend 67 years together. Delores pursued a variety of interests throughout her life. She had an avid love of art. She was a seamstress for her family, constructed many floral arrangements, and liked to sketch. Delores held several jobs including: bookkeeper, fashion model for Higbies in Cleveland, cook and crossing-guard for Longcoy Elementary school, and Avon Lady for 50 years. She helped found a local Red Hat's group, "The Red Hot Steppers". Delores will be remembered for her teaching wisdom, generosity towards others, her witty personality, and her love of family and friends. She is greatly missed by many. Mom, our sorrow is heavy, but we find peace in knowing you are happy.
She is survived by her husband, John S. Recznik Jr., whom she married on April 30th, 1949 in Lorain; sons, Lawrence (Beverly) Recznik of Kent and Michael (Sybil) Recznik of Tellico Plains, TN; daughters, Kathleen (Steve) Reinhart of North Benton, Denise (Rick) Henry of Cuyahoga Falls, and Lori L Davis of Kent; grandchildren, Melissa (Mathew) Moldvay, Nicole (Tim) Jones, Anthony (Theresa) Recznik, Jason (Carol Ann) Suits, Richard (Jackie) Recznik, Jim (Rachael) Recznik, Michael (Carrie) Recznik, Michelle (Josh) Dalton, Corrie (Dan) White, Jonathan McClure, Joseph McClure, Meghan Davis, and Makayla Davis; 21 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond (Vera) Droby.
The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Tuesday, August 9 and 9-10:30 AM Wednesday, August 10 at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home, 628 West Main Street, Kent. Funeral mass will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 10 at St. Patrick Church with Father Richard Pentello officiating. Entombment will be held at Grandview Memorial Park.
