Deno L. Lanari, 86, of Kent, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side Thursday, September 28, 2017.
He was born October 2, 1930 in Detroit, MI to Amedeo and Marina (Rossini) Lanari. Deno was a graduate of Kent Roosevelt High School and Kent State University. He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. Deno worked as a self-employed CPA for many years in Kent. He was a member of St. Patrick Church in Kent, Knights of Columbus and the Christopher Columbus Society. Deno enjoyed listening to Polka music and dancing. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Deno loved to spend time with his family.
Deno and Joyce recently celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary with their family.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Bianchi), whom he married on May 4, 1957; sons, Steven (Barbara) and Gregory; daughter, Kristi; grandchildren, Paul (Mary), Alex, Dominic and Maria; great grandchildren, Agnes, Vincent and Anthony; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Lanari and Jeanette Garro; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Amedeo and Marina Lanari; brothers, Enzo (Iris) and Aroldo; sister, Olga (Frank) Rogers, father and mother-in-law, Dominic and Italia Bianchi; sister-in-law, Jane Bianchi; and brother-in-law, Nunzio Garro.
Calling hours will be held 5-7 PM with the Knights of Columbus service at 4:45 PM Sunday, October 1st at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 AM Monday, October 2nd at St. Patrick Church. Burial will be held at Standing Rock Cemetery.
