Don Edward Evans

Don E. Evans, 61, of Rootstown, died Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna.

He was born March 27, 1950 in Ravenna to Edward D. and Marjorie H. (Chadwick) Evans. He was a man of many hats including: deputy sheriff, teacher, probation officer, Assistant Principal of Southeast High School, ESC consultant, and Pastor of St. Michaels UCC in Marshallville. He enjoyed spending time with his family, woodworking, cooking, and as his grandson, Erick, would say, "Doing man's work!" He was a long time member of the Edinburg United Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Marie (Clark), whom he married on August 19, 1972; daughters, Kristin (Erick) Craft of Rootstown and Rebecca Evans of Suffield; grandchildren, Erick and Kylie; mother, Marjorie Evans of Kent; sisters, Nancy (Richard) Hansen of Phoenix, AZ and Wendy (Steven) Craig of Caro , MI; parents-in-law, Donald E. and Joanne Clark of Windham; brother-in-law, Harold Clark of Windham; sister-in-law, Juanita (David) Apthorpe of Windham; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Evans.

Calling hours will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday, February 19th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home And Crematory in Kent, OH. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 20th at the Ravenna United Church of Christ with Rev. Glen Shedlock officiating. Burial will be held at Homeland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michaels UCC, 22 Euclid Street Marshallville OH 44645 or the Edinburg United Church of Christ, 4081 Rock Spring Road, Ravenna, OH 44266.
