Donald Fiser, 92, of Rootstown, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Kent Ridge Assisted Living. He was born in Greene, OH on December 4, 1929 to the late Elva Gale and Louella Fiser.
Donald earned bachelor’s degrees from both Penn State University and Kent State University. He proudly enlisted in the United States Army in 1952 and was stationed at West Point. He served in the Korean War and Vietnam War and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1975. He was a member of Rootstown Community Bible Church and enjoyed gardening. Donald loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois J. Fiser in 2001, whom he married in 1955; and his siblings, Roger, Della, Betty, Martha and Harlan.
He leaves his children, Carol Vaclavieck, Dan (Judy) Fiser, Nancy (Bob) McCloud, David (Jill) Fiser and Roger Fiser; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Graveside services with military honors will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 12:30pm at The Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd. Seville, OH 44273, with Pastor Scott Hindel officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Rootstown Community Bible Church, 3671 Tallmadge Rd. Rootstown, OH 44272.
