Donald Earl Moore, 81, of Kent, died Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Akron City Hospital Medical Center.
He was born August 30, 1934 in New Lexington, to William E. and Mertie (Oliver) Moore. Donald was a graduate of Kent Roosevelt High School and attended the Germain School of Camera Repair in New York City. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps during the Korean War. Donald owned and operated Deluxe Camera Service in Kent for 45 years. He was a member of the Kent United Methodist Church, Past Commandant of the United States Marine Corps League Chesty Puller Detachment 269. Don enjoyed spending time with his family, photography and working outside. He was always willing to help family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Ann (McKee) Moore, whom he married on March 18, 1956; sons, Dan Moore of Cuyahoga Falls, Dennis Moore of Kent and David (Debbie) Moore of Kent; grandchildren, Christopher (Stephanie) Moore of Melbourne, FL, Brandon (Lydia) Moore of Cuyahoga Falls, Melissa (John) Zverloff of Kent, Cody Moore of Kent, Samantha Moore of Kent, Robert Anderson of Kent, Matthew (Courtney) Justus of Laurel, MD; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Douglas Moore; brothers, Paul Moore, Wade Moore and Johnny Moore; and sister, JoAnn Haymaker.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, February 25 at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Douglas Denton officiating. Calling hours will be held from 12 PM Thursday, until the time of service. Burial will be held at Standing Rock Cemetery.
