Dora M. Llewellyn, 94, of Kent, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2012, at the Kent Healthcare Center.
She was born January 14, 1918 in Akron, to Frank J. and Catherine (Rothermel) Guthier. Dora was a communicant of St. Patrick Church since the family moved to Brady Lake in 1948. She was a member of the Brady Lake Women's Club for over 30 years and served as the Club Historian for many of those years. Her hobbies were sewing, baking, keeping her yard in order and caring for others. She worked for several years at the Woolen Mills in Ravenna and as a housekeeper for several families and friends on a part time basis.
She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn L. Llewellyn of Kent; sons, Frank J. (Loretta) Hegedus of Brooklyn, CT, Ronald J. Llewellyn of Kent, Alden E. (Myrna) Llewellyn of North Charleston, SC, Dale E. Llewellyn of Killeen, TX, Noah J. Llewellyn of Phoenix, AZ and Randall L. Llewellyn (Lynda) of Streetsboro; ten grandchildren, Gary and Steven Hegedus, Sheila (Hegedus) Borkiewicz, Janet (Hughes) Taylor, Mark, Randy and Michael Hughes, Shannon (Llewellyn) Haradon, Alden J. and Scott Llewellyn, also survive her. She is also survived by four great grandchildren, four great, great grandchildren and special niece, Linda Ezzo as well as several other nieces and nephews.
Dora was preceded in death by her husband, Noah J. Llewellyn; daughter, Carol A. Hughes; sisters, Marie LaRose, Helen Morris and Leona Hegedus.
Calling hours will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday, April 2nd at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory in Kent. Funeral mass will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 3rd at St. Patrick Church with Father Richard Pentello officiating. Burial will be held at Standing Rock Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a Charity of choice.
