Dorothy Mae Alexander

Dorothy Mae (Klincko) Alexander, 89, of Kent, died Sunday, March 16, 2014 at her home.

She was born September 26, 1924 in Cleveland to Daniel and Lottie (Malicki) Klincko and grew up as an only child. She graduated from Kent State High School in 1942 and went to work for Goodyear Tire and Rubber for eight years. She married the late Glenn R. Alexander on June 23, 1951. They were happily married for 61 years prior to Glenn's death on October 10, 2012. Both Dorothy and Glenn enjoyed travel and extensively travelled the world. They both loved golf and were regulars at Oak Knolls Gold Course in Kent.

Dorothy is survived by three nephews-in-law, Geoffrey (Hillary) Alexander of Chapel Hill, NC, Richard (Shirley) Alexander of Warm Springs, GA, and James (Lisa) Alexander of Charlotte, SC. She will be missed, but fondly remembered by her South Lincoln Street neighbors, her Crossings at Golden Pond neighbors, the Congregation of Trinity Lutheran Church in Kent, where she was a life member; and of course, all of her Oak Knolls golfing friends.

The friends of Dorothy would like to thank the following: Pastor Betti Hazelton, Dr. Nathan Lucardie, the Robinson Memorial Hospice and Visiting Nurse caregivers; as well as all the caregivers at Home Instead; and Linda Bost and Denise Dues.

A Memorial Service for Dorothy and Glenn is planned for mid-spring. In lieu of flowers, any memorial donations should go to the Trinity Lutheran Church, 600 South Water Street, Kent OH 44240.
