Dorothy Adele Markley

Dorothy Adele Markley, 94, of Kent, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025 in the comfort of her home, with her family by her side. She was born in Erie, PA on May 13, 1930 to the late John and Mary Nicholes. 

Dorothy was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed leather crafting and gardening and had a great sense of humor. She will always be remembered for being very generous and helpful and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Herbert Markley and two sons Rickey and George Markley.

Dorothy leaves her children, Bonnie Mae Gamel and Dale Patrick Markley; grandchildren, Sienna, Nicklos, Dan, Mason, Debra, Dan, John, Nichelle, Elliott and Christopher and her great granddaughter Ivana.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 1:00PM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 313 N. Depeyster St. Kent, OH 44240, with the Rev. Fr. David Bridling as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Standing Rock Cemetery.
