Dorothy Pohmurski, 90, of Kent, died Tuesday, August 29, 2017, at the Woodlands in Ravenna.
She was born November 9, 1926 in Youngstown, to Stephen and Katherine (Drapp) Sopkovich. She worked as the Head Registration Secretary for the YWCA in 1950-1956 and was the Health Education Secretary in 1951 in Milford, CT. Dorothy was also columnist for Welcome Wagon in Milford, CT from 1961-1962. She enjoyed knitting, family Genealogy, photography and volunteered as a Girl Scout leader.
She is survived by son, Jerry (Kelly) Pohmurski of Kent; daughters, Mary Kay (Richard C.) Ennis of Newark, DE and Dorann Sue (Tuck) Russell of San Diego, CA; and grandson, Scott Ennis of Dallas, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Charles Pohmurski, whom she married May 26, 1956, in 2005; grandson, Alexander Ennis in 2004; sisters, Katherine Blissenbach in 2008 and Marian Sopkovich in 1933; and brother, Stephen Sopkovich in 1983.
Funeral Service will be on Saturday, September 16th at 11 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Kent. Burial will be held at Standing Rock Cemetery with a small gathering immediately to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to St. William Church, 5431 Mahoning Ave, Warren, OH 44483. Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory are handling the arrangements.
