Duane J. Marsh, 83, of Kent, died Saturday, January 17, 2015 at his home.
He was born March 20, 1931 in Akron to Floyd Clark and Emily Rachel (Brown) Marsh. Duane was a graduate of Akron University and earned his Master's in Music Education from Columbia University. He was a US Army veteran and played tuba in the Army Band. A former music teacher, musician, and artist, Duane was a member and bass player for the Akron Symphony Orchestra. He was an avid traveler and photographer. He retired from the Flood Company in Hudson. He was a member of the Parkinson's Support Group.
Duane is survived by son, Jeff (Lisa) Marsh of Streetsboro; grandchildren, Sarah Beth Audet and Rachel Audet; many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Marsh in 2006; and son, Larry Jay Marsh in 1989.
Calling hours will be held 6-8 PM Friday, January 23rd at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home where funeral services will be held 9:30 AM Saturday, January 24th with Rev. Carol S. Evans officiating.
