Edward A. Waller, 74, of Kent, passed peacefully Monday, December 3, 2012 at Akron City Hospital Medical Center, with the support of his wife and surrounded by his family and friends. He was born March 27, 1938 in Tuscarawas County, to Glenn and Mary (Hart) Waller. He was a veteran of the Army. Ed was the owner of All Pro Sportscenter in Kent from 1970-1999, reopening the store in 2010. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Kent. Ed was a lifetime ballplayer, coach and mentor and was inducted into the Akron Softball Hall of Fame in 2010. He organized and directed the Ohio Eagles Youth Baseball Program for 13 years and was a devoted animal lover. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Linda (Stahre) Waller; sons, Mike (Shellie) Casamento of Brimfield, Mark (Kathy) Waller of Cape Coral, FL and Adam E. Waller of Long Beach, CA; daughters, Sheri (Wendell) Hellebrand of Rootstown, Tami (Wayne) VanDyne of Kent, Courtney (Ray) Pearn of Chardon and Melissa (Scott) Shreiner of Akron; grandchildren, Drew (David) Hellebrand, Nicholas Panetta, Todd Waller, Tony Waller, Jon Waller, Grace Waller and Brody Casamento; great grandson, Brody Jr.; brother, David (Sandra) Waller of Chesterland. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Mary Waller; and brother, Thomas Waller. Calling hours will be held 2-4 PM and 5-8 PM Friday, December 7th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent, where funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, December 8th with Rev. Dr. David Palmer officiating. Burial will be held at Standing Rock Cemetery.
