Edward B. Whitehouse Jr., 84, of Cuyahoga Falls and formerly of Brimfield, died suddenly Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at the Cardinal Retirement Village in Cuyahoga Falls.
He was born July 18, 1929 in Wilkinsburg, PA to Edward B. and Helen Ann (Rach) Whitehouse. Ed earned his Masters degree in Human Resources Management from Kent State University in 1999. He was a Quality Control Manager for his career. Ed was member of St. Patrick Church in Kent. He was an avid tennis player, volunteered at Robinson Memorial Hospital for 15 years, volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and Meals on Wheels. Ed proctored many GED students in their math courses. He donated blood whenever he could and he believed strongly in giving back to the community. Ed avidly supported Kent State University athletics.
Ed is survived by sons, Charles (Nora) Whitehouse and David (Marsha Eastman) Whitehouse both of Cuyahoga Falls; significant other, Patricia Sattler of Kent; grandchildren, Rachael and Jacob Whitehouse of Cuyahoga Falls and Nicole and Jenny Sattler of Cleveland; brother, John (Sandra) Whitehouse of Verona, PA; sisters, Dorothy Gray of Kent, Nancy (Bob) Walent of Cleveland, TN and Marian (Bob) Barna of Tucson, AZ; and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward B. and Helen (Rach) Whitehouse; and brother, Franklin Whitehouse.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 11 at St. Patrick Church with Father Richard Pentello officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity of Portage County, PO Box 306, Ravenna OH 44266. Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory are handling the arrangements.
